Certain issues trouble me and I feel compelled to write something about them. I once told my students that the people who will cause you the most annoyance in life are not the ones who hate you and plot to destroy you, but the idiots who have somehow managed to kiss their way into positions of power and prestige. When your path intersects with the powerful and stupid, watch out.
